Ranvir Shorey has often spoken volumes about nepotism and the Insider vs Outsider debate in Bollywood. Having worked his way to the top, Shorey has seen it all and is one of the celebrities who never minces his words. Now, the actor in his recent interview confessed to being out of work even before the pandemic hit us last year in March. However, it was the emergence of OTT platforms that gave him good opportunities, and the actor isn’t complaining.

The Lootcase actor was quoted by Hindustan Times reflecting upon OTT platforms and their benefits. “I think OTT platforms are a godsend, any way you look at it. Whether you’re an artiste, technician, writer, or even for the audience, there’s no fear of you being elbowed out by a bigger film, or a bigger personality, or politics of film business,” he said.

Ranvir Shorey was last seen in the web show Sunflower, and he’s currently shooting for another one, besides an online chat show that’s also lined up.

He went on to add that things got bleak when it comes to theatrical releases. “There are only a limited number of theatres and a limited number of shows, so that used to make the game quite dirty actually,” Ranvir Shorey added.

Shorey views OTT platforms as democratic by their nature owing to the opportunities they provide giving equal space to every film irrespective of the scale it’s made on.

Ranvir has made great contributions to Indian cinema with his films like Titli, Traffic Signal, A Death in the Gunj, Kadvi Hawa, Gali Guleiyan and many more films. He also went on to star in a few mainstream Bollywood films like Ek Tha Tiger.
