Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and late actor Rishi Kapoor were close pals; unfortunately, both were even detected with cancer a few months apart. While Rishi was confirmed being diagnosed with the dreadful disease in the month of August in 2018, Rakesh Roshan revealed to the world of being detected with Cancer in December 2018.

As per reports in Mid Day, the filmmaker revealed being inconsolable with the news of his pal breathing his last yesterday morning at HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai.The news of Rishi Kapoor passing away was confirmed by his son Ranbir Kapoor.

Narrating the whole incident of yesterday morning the filmmaker revealed that one of his friends asked him about the health updates of Rishi Kapoor. Followed by which he called up Randhir Kapoor but unfortunately couldn’t connect with him. Ultimately it was Ranbir who broke the news to him, when the filmmaker called the young lad, and was left shocked and sobbing.

He also mentioned instead of him consoling Ranbir, the late actor’s son was consoling Roshan.He was quoted by Mid Day, “I woke up this morning to a message from a friend, asking if Rishi Kapoor was all right. When I called Dabboo [Randhir Kapoor], his number was busy. That's when my heart sank and I instinctively knew something was wrong. Then I rang up Ranbir who shared the news. It was so shocking that I started crying on the phone. Instead of me consoling him, Ranbir comforted me. He has been a pillar of strength to his father.”

Rakesh taking to his Instagram account shared a picture from a get together which took place after Rishi’s return in India in 2019. The picture also had late actor’s brother Randhir Kapoor and Jeetendra.

He captioned this image as, “Rishi left us... Chintu gone... feeling lonely, God give strength.”

Kapoor family also released an official statement post the actor breathed his last, penning down last few days of actor's battle against cancer.
