Rameshwari, Shahbaaz and Manav Vij in BAG Films show..

BAG Films' upcoming show on Star Plus, tentatively titled 'Phool Kamal Ka' has finally gone on floors, and the news is that the first schedule of shoot has begun in Varanasi.

According to our source, "The story has a moral connect, and will focus on various issues like caste discrimination, male child getting prominence in society when compared to the girl child etc. The story line will revolve round the orthodox practices that are prevalent even today in the UP".

Earlier, we had reported that Swati Chitnis will play an important role in the show along with Nigaar Khan.

ALSO READ: Manav Gohil talks about his character in Dabangii & shares his excitement The latest on the cast of the show is that "Rameshwari who was last seen playing the female protagonist's mother in Sony's Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Naa will be seen playing a psychic and mysterious character in the show", informs our source.

"Shahbaaz Khan who was earlier seen playing the tough task master in Grahasti has bagged the role of the family's head. He will again be seen playing the strict disciplinarian, and his character name is Mam Chand", adds our source.

"Playing the youngest son of the family is Manav Vij who played the role of Joydeep in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Though the family has strange rules and regulations, Manav's character will come across as the very good boy of the house, who will later turn heroic as the story progresses", adds our source.

"Manav's wife and the youngest Bahu of the family will be played by Rudrakshini who was earlier seen in Jassuben Jayantilal Joshi ki Joint Family. Others in the cast include Manish Wadhwa, Vipra Rawal", our source further adds.

"The male and the female leads are completely fresh faces, and the show is supposed to be launched in the first week of May in an afternoon slot", concludes our source.

We tried calling Nilanjana Puryakastha, Supervising Producer, BAG Films, but she was unavailable till the time we filed the story.
