Rakesh Roshan says he has been waiting to make Krrish 4 but 'budgeting ho nahi raha hai'

The Krrish franchise, featuring Hrithik Roshan, stands out as one of the most successful in Indian cinema, and fans are eagerly awaiting updates on Krrish 4. Recently, Rakesh Roshan voiced his concerns regarding the film's scale and budget. In an interview with Gaana, he noted that while the film is intended to be grand, he is encountering difficulties in financing it.

“We have to be very careful. Aur hum uss paimaane (Marvel, DC) ki picture bana nahi sakte hain. Itne paise hote nahi hain humare paas. Our budget doesn’t allow us… Hume kahani pe zyada concentrate karna padta hai. Halaki bade bade sequences honge picture main par agar 10 nahi honge toh 2 honge ya 3 honge," he added.

In a previous interview with India Today, Rakesh mentioned that while Krrish 4 is set to be the biggest film in the franchise, budgeting has become a concern. He expressed worries about the audience not returning to theaters, which raises questions about the film's success. Krrish is expected to be a major production, but he pointed out that the world has changed, and kids today are more accustomed to Hollywood superhero films that are made on budgets of around 500-600 million dollars. In comparison, Krrish 4 has a smaller budget of Rs 200-300 crore.

Rakesh confirmed that Krrish 4 is definitely in the works, but they plan to take their time before moving forward. The superhero franchise began with the 2003 film Koi Mil Gaya, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta. It was followed by Krrish in 2006, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. The third installment, Krrish 3, was released in 2013 and featured Kangana Ranaut alongside Hrithik.
