Debuting with the National Award-winning film Apoorava Raagangal alongside Kamal Hassan, Rajnikanth, as we all know resides in every heart that beats for Indian Cinema. Besides being acknowledged and respected by all fans alike, this unusual superstar has also been awarded with the Padma Bhushan i.e. the third highest civilian award in India.

Notably, Rajnikanth's original name is Shivaji Rao Gaekward, born to a Maharashtrian family. Although he worked as a bus conductor in a Banglore-based transport company, his passion of acting comes from his infamous stage-plays where he performed in mediocre playwrights. During one such play, director K. Balachander, who now Rajni considers nothing less than a mentor, advised him to learn speaking Tamil, a tip he was quick to follow and thus a superstar was born.

Though Rajnikanth worked in various films, his first mainstream role came in Bairavi, leading to his slow rise of a popular hero. However, his first film to gain critical acclaim was Mullam Malarum. His first appearance in Bollywood was with Andha Kanoon which also starred Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan.

With all his fans worrying over their favorite - the astounding Rajnikanth's health is not at it's best at the moment - we take you down the memory rail that features Super-Rajni's top favorite dialogues (translated into English for non-Tamil speakers) which made us laugh and remain enthralled too.

Annamalai (1992)

"Naan solrathaiyum seiven; sollathathaiyum seiven." (I will do what I say; I will even do what I do not say)

Robot  (2010)

"Speed - 1Tera-Hertz; Memory 1Zeta-byte!"

Basha (1995)

"Naan oru dhadavai sonna nooru dhadavai sonna madhiri." (If I say it once, I've said it a hundred times)

Baba (2003)

"Naan leytta vanthalum leyttestta than varuvaan." (Even if I come late, I will be the latest one to come!). Again, no pun intended.

Sivaji , The Boss (2007)

"Summa peru sonnale adhiruthille???!!!" (Doesn't my name send a shiver down your spine? Ha!)

Padayappa (1999)

"En vazhi , thani vazhi." (My way is the original (a unique) way)

Muthu (1996):

"Eppa varuven, eppadi varuvennu yarukkum theriyadhu, aana varavendiya neratthil correct-aga varuven." (No one knows when I will come, or how I will, but when I come I will come at the right time)

Arunachalam (1997)

"Andavan solran. Arunachalam seiran." (God commands. I obey.)

Chandramukhi  (2005)

"Naan yaanai illa, kuthirai, keezha vizhundha takkunu yezhunthupaen.' (I am not an elephant but a horse for I get up in a jiffy when I fall)

And how can we forget, Rajni's special punch line "Mind it!"  which he has used in numerous films and has been imitated by countless others as well.

On that note, here's wishing Asia's biggest superstar a speedy recovery! Do leave a comment and let us know which is your favorite Rajnikanth line.
