Rajkummar Rao's "Newton" fails to make entry at Oscar, 2018.

The film loses at the final cut



Rajkummar Rao's critically acclaimed film Newton, which was India's official entry for the Oscars' Best Foreign Language Film category, has failed to make it to the final cut.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the final nine films that have reached the voting round and the Amit Masurkar-directed black comedy is not one of them. Other acclaimed films, which were also omitted in the final selection are Cambodia's First They Killed My Father (directed by Angelina Jolie) and Franc's BPM (Beats Per Minute) by Robin Campillo.

While it is the sad news for the fans an the people of India, as after making it to the Oscars the loses just at the final cut. "Newton" had won many accolades not only from the audience but from the critics as well. Not just the film created a buzz amongst the people but, Rao's performance also won the heart of all.
