Rajkummar Rao is all set to play visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla in upcoming biopic

Rajkummar Rao is set to bring a film based on the inspiring story of Srikanth Bolla, a visually impaired industrialist. 

Tushar Hiranandani, who previously directed 'Saand Ki Aankh,' will direct the film, tentatively titled 'Srikanth Bolla,' which has been written by Sumit Purohit and Jagdeep Sidhu. 

Rajkummar Rao stated about his character, "Srikanth Bolla is an inspiration! It's indeed a privilege to play such an inspiring persona who has been through a lot of hardships and despite that has risen like a phoenix! I am really looking forward to playing Srikant. I'm happy to collaborate with Bhushan sir yet again on this compelling project."

Srikanth Bolla was born in a small, unremarkable village in rural Andhra Pradesh to poor, uneducated parents. After completing the tenth grade, he engaged in a legal battle with the state in order to pursue a career in science. He not only passed his tenth and twelfth grade exams with flying colours, but he also became the first international blind student to attend the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States. 

The film will go into production in July 2022.
