The Rajiv Gandhi Awards, held recently in Mumbai, is being held for the last 10 years with the support & guidance of Shrimati Sonia Gandhi. The awards bring together maestros, achievers & celebrities from all walks of life that are felicitated & awarded for outstanding work in their respective fields. The grand awards function will be telecast on Sunday, August 10 ^th at 8.00 p.m on Sony Entertainment Television.

Instituted to commemorate the memory of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who was not only an endearing personality but was held in high esteem for his admirable qualities, these awards are conferred upon people for their outstanding achievements in their respective fields. Over the years the awards have been attracting the attention of media from India and internationally.

Those who were awarded this year include sports personalities, industrialists, journalists, women achievers, educationists, social workers, young & global entrepreneurs and glamorous people from the world of entertainment to name a few.

The evening was graced by the outstanding personalities from various walks of life who were presented with some grand entertainment with some dazzling performances by artists like Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Koena Mitra, Tanushree Dutta, Isha Sherwani and some great singing by Sukhwinder Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shivamani & young Nagi (jugal bandhi) among many others.
