Rajesh Asthana in Sahara One's Katputli..

Telly Buzz had earlier reported that Snigdha Srivastav will play the female lead in Sahara One and Jay Productions' upcoming show, Katputli. We had earlier reported that Anang Desai had been finalized to play the female lead's father. But the latest is that things did not materialize there, and Rajesh B. Asthana who is presently doing a cameo in Zee TV's Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo will play the father's role.

According to our source, "There were certain date issues with Anang Desai, and now Rajesh Asthana has been roped in to play the girl's father. Katputli is the tale of a mute girl who gets emotionally trapped by her family members, and does whatever they say".

When contacted, Rajesh Asthana confirmed the news and said, "Yes, I am playing the father of the female lead. He is a person who entertains one and all with the game of katputli. He is a doting and emotional father. He has a daughter and two sons. I can tell you only this".

Yasir Shah who was last seen in Tujh Sang Preet Lagaai Sajna plays the male lead. Apparently he will also play a mute guy in the show. Sandeep Mehta who plays Naitik's father in Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been short listed to play the male lead's father.

Katputli will go on floors soon, and the launch is expected to take place sometime in May.
