A few days back, Elvish Yadav made a shocking comment about Chum Darang which created a big controversy. Many people were outraged and lashed out at him for his remarks. When Rajat Dalal recently joined Elvish Yadav’s podcast, a clip from their discussion went viral on social media, leaving many in shock. The two were heard making racist remarks about Bigg Boss 18 finalist Chum Darang. While Elvish is already dealing with legal repercussions for his comments, Rajat has now stated that it was never his intention to hurt anyone.
Recently, Rajat Dalal spoke to CNN-News18 Showsha during the launch event of the Entertainers Cricket League (ECL) 2.
It was a roast. If somebody felt bad about it, I have already clarified on that front as well. It was not my intention. If somebody was hurt, let it be, I cannot do anything
- Rajat Dalal
Earlier this month, Elvish Yadav stunned everyone with his racist and offensive remarks directed at Bigg Boss 18 contestant Chum Darang. During a conversation with Rajat Dalal on his podcast, the YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner made fun of Chum, labeling her as vulgar.
“Karanveer ko pakka COVID tha kyunki Chum kisko pasand aati hai bhai, itna taste kiska kharab hota hai! Aur Chum ke toh naam mein hi ashleelta hai… Naam Chum aur kaam Gangubai Kathiawadi mein kiya hai," Elvish said.
Chum Darang later responded to the comments made by Elvish and Rajat, expressing her anger over their mockery of North-Easterners. She stated, “Disrespecting someone’s identity and name is not ‘fun.’ Mocking someone’s achievements is not ‘banter.’ It’s time we draw the line between humour and hate. What’s even more disappointing is that this wasn’t just about my ethnicity; my hard work and a film backed by a visionary like Sanjay Leela Bhansali were also disrespected," in a pointed post.
In the aftermath of the incident, the National Commission for Women (NCW) took action by summoning Elvish Yadav and issuing summons to the YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner.
