Singer Rahul Vaidya, who previously drew criticism for calling cricketer Virat Kohli a “joker,” has now taken a supportive turn towards the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). After RCB’s decisive victory over Punjab Kings in IPL 2025’s Qualifier 1, the singer voiced his hopes that the team might finally lift the trophy this season.
Speaking to the media while out with his wife, actress Disha Parmar, and their daughter, Rahul said, “This time, the final is going to be really tough… because RCB has never won the cup, so there’s this heartfelt feeling that RCB will win this time… and you already know how Virat is… Love RCB… I think RCB will win the cup.”

Rahul’s changed stance comes after a public update that Virat Kohli had unblocked him on Instagram. Sharing his reaction on social media, the singer wrote, “Thank you @virat.kohli for unblocking me… you are one of the best batsman cricket has ever seen, and Aap India ka garv ho! Jai Hind.”
Earlier, Rahul had alleged that Kohli blocked him due to a reaction he gave on a post involving Avneet Kaur, which Kohli had liked. This created a social media stir, prompting Kohli to clarify that it might have been a technical error. “There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made,” Kohli stated.
Rahul, in response, commented sarcastically, “Aaj ke baad aisa ho sakta hai ki algorithm bohot saare photos like karde jo maine nahi kare. So jo bhi ladki ho, please don’t do PR around it because it is not my mistake. It is Instagram’s mistake, okay?”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Rahul Vaidya is currently seen in Colors TV’s reality show Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment.
