Televisions actress Neha Yadav seen in Star Plus' popular
show Suhani Si Ek Ladki is essaying the character of Soumya. Before stepping into this Television industry, the actress worked in a film titled as Love Express and thus a has knack of acting.
Here is this pretty lass Neha talking about her character, bonding with her co-stars and more...
How did the role of Soumya happen to you?
I auditioned for the role and I got a call from Suzena ma'am who is our producer. She called me and I gave the audition and two days later I was called for the workshop. So I think that I was kind of a person they were looking for the role. During auditions I was being myself and whatever they wanted in their character was in me I guess and so I was selected. Suzena ma'am knew me as I did a film Love Express which was produced by Subhash Ghai. So she has seen me in the film, and I am not sure but she might have seen shades of Soumya in me.
How similar are Neha and Soumya in real life?
There are parts of Soumya in which she is quite similar to Neha. Like Soumya is a very bindass girl she also likes being pampered, she wants that whoever is her boyfriend makes her feel special, she always wants that importance and attention. She also likes dressing up which personally even I love to do that, she can spend hours in front of the mirror. She is always protective about her friend Suhani and can do anything for her agar usse kissine kuch kaha toh soumya pange lene chale jaati hai. So many a times she stands up for Suhani (Rajshri Rani Pandey) even with Yuvraaj (Sahil Mehta) also when there are quarrels between them. So ya there are many things where I can relate myself to Soumya and there are many things which don't relate to me so I can't talk now.
Since you have done a film and now you are acting in a TV show so what difference do you find while acting in films and TV?
It's a very cliched answer but I genuinely love acting. My routine for TV starts like this - every day
I get up, I come on the set, I get ready with a happy mind that yippey I am going to
work today and I will do what I love. I have come from Delhi to do this and for
which I can't crib that I am not getting time to sleep or I am tired or I am working of
long ours, no I never do that. Agar thakan bhi ho jaye still it's okay but
once I am in front of the camera there is some energy in me which I don't know from where it comes from
but once director says action I am full energetic to play my part.
Well talking about the comparison
between Bollywood and Television, I would of course say that they are very
different mediums and so they have different kinds of audiences'. As you know in
Bollywood as there is an experimental cinema and for television there is
a particular audience who loves to watch shows and on television you see actors every
day. We television actors become like household faces, what else we want, we
get crazy publicity, people come and ask aap Soumya ho na?. It feels so great
after listening that and seeing me on-screen people have started recognizing me.
How is your equation with the other actors on the set as most of them are new comers, who is your best friend on the set?
I think I am friendly with everybody. As far as best friend is concerned its too early to make anyone best friend here because we have not shot for that long. We are shooting from a month or only a two. So ya we all are friends but no best friends as of now.
How do you spend leisure time on the set?
We all sit together and chit chat. Personally I like like listening to music because that kind of music keeps me in a happy mood, because sometimes you do get tired shooting for long hours. How much ever you tell yourself mentally you are not tired, physically you do get tired. I prefer listening to soft music; relax a little bit in a make-up room.
Other than acting what are your other interests?
I love acting, dancing and eating. I like reading and I love loud music especially of Yo Yo Honey Singh. I am his big fan.
What are you future plans?
I have not made any plans because in life I have made lots of plans and my plans have not really worked out. So I have stopped making plans and now I go with the flow and let's see what happens next. Right now I am here doing what I like, I am happy and let's see where life takes me.
