"There were problems but after having a chat with the production team I've decided that for the time being I'm going to continue with the show. Lets see whether certain things improve or not," says Ali.
So what exactly were the problems he was facing? "If the script is not good what can I do? The same double roles; I think I've played such roles for 7 to 8 times in the serial and once there was triple and four roles that I've done. Later it was becoming monotonous. There is no creative planning and I feel there should be a limit to everything."
He adds further, "It is very easy for someone to say that I'm not doing this show but for me I've given a lot to it and thus just can't get up one day and go. I've worked non stop for 36 hours, not taken a break and there were times when I had not even taken a week off. So I really want to give this show a chance."
There were rumors that the show might be pulled off air, is it true? "No, I can't comment on that as it's the channel's call. My only concern is that it should not shut down because Ali has left the show. For us (actors) its easy as we can move on to many different shows but for the team involved like the spot boys, technicians etc it becomes difficult."
Acting in a daily soap keeps one so busy that it means you have to let go of some offers, which is what happened with Ali too. In a very disheartening tone, he states, "I got two good offers for films - Kick and Happy New Year but couldn't do them as I had no time. I feel bad to miss a Salman Khan film. I remember when I visited the sets of Bigg Boss, Salman said 'arre you want to do a film' and I said 'yes'. After a month I got a call from Sajid Nadiadwala's team for a chunky role in Kick and they needed me for a one month but as I was shooting for my daily serial couldn't go. Again the same thing happened with Shah Rukh Khan's flick Happy New Year, though in this there was just 2 or 3 days needed."
Signing off Ali says, "Jeannie Aur Juju has given me lot of awards and appreciation but I've decided that after this I'll not take any daily soap. I just want to work for 15 to 20 days and rest of the days I want to give time to my self and take up some other work," he concludes.
Till then Ali's fans can stay happy watching him in Jeannie Aur Juju.
