Television actors Puja Banerjee and Kunal Verma have opened up about falling victim to a significant financial scam that has left them in a deeply challenging situation. The couple revealed that the alleged fraud was committed by someone they trusted closely, resulting in the loss of their entire savings.

In a recent interview with ETimes, Puja shared that the past few months have been emotionally and financially devastating. “These past 2-3 months have been extremely difficult for us, and we have no idea what will happen next,” she said. “We’ve been victims of a fraudulent financial scam and have lost a huge amount.”

Puja disclosed that the incident has left them starting over from scratch. “We have to start from zero, but we won't give up,” she said. “We lost all our savings in this fraud. All we ask for is your support and prayers. We continue to place our faith in God.”

She further revealed that the experience has taken a particularly hard toll on her husband, Kunal Verma, who is struggling to process the betrayal. According to the couple, the individual responsible had been a part of their lives for years and was considered almost family.

Kunal expressed his deep disappointment and said, “When you trust someone for three years—someone who becomes part of your home and family—this kind of betrayal is unimaginable.”

The couple has chosen not to publicly disclose the identity of the person involved but emphasized that legal and personal steps are being taken to address the situation.

Puja added that, despite their pain, they are determined to rebuild their lives, “We are deeply hurt, but we don’t want to give up. We aim to come out of this stronger.”

Kunal also shared that they had initially kept the matter private, even from their families. “We’ve cried enough over this,” he said. “It was impossible to tell our families, but now, through this video, they will find out. It feels terrible to break such news to them. We’ve worked hard all our lives for what we had.”

While the couple refrained from taking legal names, they assured their supporters that they are working on resolving the issue and moving forward.
