Every year, international red carpet events mark a fashion trend to watch out for. While in the past, extravagant princess friendly silhouettes and naked gowns have ruled the roost, the year 2019, we can safely say is about the fancy, tulle-frills attached to a gown. Why just now, this form of embellishment has been around for long. And one glimpse at this style will instantly take us back to our first birthday dress. Therefore, when this year's Cannes rolled out it’s red carpet, in came all the divas with princess friendly, loofah inspired tulle attire. Here’s taking a look at this trend spotting……
Deepika Padukone's Cannes 2018 outfit, was a shocking pink colour, ruflled- Ashi Studio designed gown. A style pick that inspired Beyonce too. While that was 2018, in 2019 Deepika had a busier and crazier take on ruffles as she picked a fluffy tulle gown from Giambattista Valli's latest collection.
After Deepika, Dua Lipa showed what a true blue, dramatic frilled gown looked like as she rocked a feather detailed, ruffled gown from Valentino.
Talk about feathers and we can't miss out on, Aishwarya Rai's second formal appearance at Cannes 2019 in an Ashi Studio designed, white gown. Aishwarya looked and also glided like a swan on the carpet
It was when we spotted Aishwarya Rai in this white gown that we got a strong deja-vu. It straight took us to the time when Priyanka wore a similar design at Cannes this year, a Georges Hobeika couture gown from his bridal collection.
In the midst of all the frilly sartorial theatrics was Sonam Kapoor's subtle take on this style embellishment, a Maison Valentino red colour ruffled dress.
Kendall Jenner in a shocking pink colour ruffled dress, showed us what to expect when an haute couture label Giambattista Valli meets a fast fashion brand H & M.
Brazilian model Fernanda Liz may have suffered a wardrobe malfunction at the glitzy carpet event but it was the yellow frilly detailed gown from designer Ali Karoui that we are talking about.
Victoria's Secret model Sara Sampaio wore a frill replete, peach perfection gown by Georges Hobeika. Yet again, a memorable ruffled attire.
After thigh-high slit, voluminous ball room and naked gown trend, it is safe to say the year 2019 is all about the ruffle detail. What are your thoughts on the same? Let us know in the comments below.....
