This one had us doing a double take...

Colors' Udaan just dropped a new promo and its creating all the buzz. With the number of changes the show has offered in such a short span, we aren't surprised at yet another attempt to enthral viewers and re-capture the audiences' attention. In a series of leaps, the show has planned yet another leap and it comes with a few changes (well, maybe).
Suraj (Vijayendra Kumeria) and Chakor (Meera Deosthale) have come a long way and their journey has come full-circle as it comes back to Azadganj. The upcoming leap is a revival of the story. Here's what we thought of the latest promo of Udaan.
The Promo
Udaan's new promo starts with a chirpy girl heading towards Azadganj. However, the tone that has been set is serious as the practice of bandhwa still prevails in the village. There are scenes of people lining up to get their arms stamped. In such an atmosphere we see a young Anjor who is running free, flying a kite. Her spirit is similar to that of Chakor.
In the next frame, her kite is shot down by Ghumaan Singh (Mohammad Nazim) who is seen standing next to Imli. Anjor is a free-spirited child and she teases the intruder before running along. She bumps into Chakor and you can easily see the similarity between her and a young Chakor. Anjor makes a statement that she will brighten up Azadganj. It is the same intent that Chakor started out with. The plot will be centred around the next generation on the show.
The Good:
We like how the promo successfully plays with parallels. This gives viewers a fair idea of the new comer's personality as she is pegged right across Chakor and the two are wearing similar shades of yellow. Anjor is quite the reflection of Chakor.
Mohammad Nazim looks convincing as as a villain considering that this is his first negative role. In terms of plot, we think Udaan is getting a fresh chance to go back to its original plot which was all about social change in a rural village.
The Bad:
We see a very easy opportunity for repetition. Udaan Anjor Ki looks like it wil only repeat history after the show has nothing new to offer. We wonder if its going to go in circles repeating the same line of actions.
It looks like too much of a flashback instead of a revival. And, we worry it is going to be the same old story.
The Verdict:
The promo makes Udaan Anjor Ki like the show's desperate attempt to give loyal fans something new to hold on to. With the show running its course, we don't really see a point of a revamp with so little to offer in terms of novelty. The promo fails to give us something to really look forward to. And, it isn't enough to make one try out the new episodes of the long-running show.
