#PromoReview: The 'New' Dev and Sonakshi PROMISE to give 'Kuch Rang..' the much-needed freshness!

Sony TV's popular show, 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' is all set to welcome one of its biggest developments - the 7 year leap in the show, which begins today. The recently concluded track showcased a massive showdown between Dev (Shaheer Sheikh) and Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes), post which Sonakshi has left the Dixit household.

In one of the biggest surprises, it confirmed the separation of Dev and Sonakshi instead of a happy conclusion, which in fact is a good change from what have been seeing so far. The latest promo of the show is out and it presents Dev and Sonakshi in a never-seen-before avatar.

It begins with a 'new' Sonakshi getting disturbed by a speeding bike and she turns to see who it is! Enters a handsome hunk, who removes his helmet in style and that is none other than Dev himself. With a leather jacket on and a girl sitting behind him on the bike feeding him an ice cream, Dev has transformed completely. Sonakshi is surprised to see Dev, but continues to walk away only to see him again from the window of her car. However, she is interrupted by a little girl who calls her 'Mamma' and she smiles at her feeding her the ice cream she had gone to buy.

What's Good

The sheer fact that we see Dev and Sonakshi in completely different avatars is a treat in itself. Watching the usually salwar-kameez and bindi ridden Sonakshi, in semi-formal attire with nerdy spectacles and short hair, is a delightful change as she looks beautiful. Also, from witnessing Dev clad in a suit, to him sporting a leather jacket and not to mention his new casanova avatar, is an anomaly which is to be looked forward to.

What is said to be one of the best things about this track, is that unlike several other shows which introduce leaps in the most cliched ways, 'Kuch Rang..' adopts a different approach. Instead of just changing the looks of the protagonist as they will be ageing, here, Dev and Sonakshi are given different personalities to portray with those different looks.

The little glimpse of the little girl is surely gonna be worth watching. Watching mother-daughter bonding with Sonakshi being the mother will be endearing.

What's Not-So Good

Though we aren't aware as to what happens to Supriya Pilgaonkar aka Ishwari's character in the show, the fact that Ishwari let her son Dev break 'bad' in all these years and become a Casanova, is a fact that is very hard to digest. So, we really wonder as to what happens to Ishwari!

The Verdict

The post-leap storyline is compelling and it will surely add the much-needed fresh breath of air, that the show needed all this time. The show can only get better with this new angle and it is like starting afresh again. What could have been a better time for the show to actually adapt this, where it has been under the scanner and is on the brink of completing a year next month.
