But beware, if you have sky high expectations from this version of Chandrakanta.

You must be well aware of the whole 'Chandrakanta' fiasco. For those who came in late, here's a small jist.

Both Colors (Balaji Telefilms) and Life OK (Triangle Productions) were in a competition of sorts to adapt the famous novel Chandrakanta. Life OK has already launched the show titled 'Prem Ya Paheli - Chandrakanta' starring Kritika Kamra as the lead face.

And now, Balaji Telefilms plan to launch their version of the show on Colors for which their first promo has been released. Honestly, we did expect something more from this Balaji version. Especially because the makers took time to finalise things.

The promo starts with a very dreamy and elaborate introduction of princess Chandrakanta, played by actress Madhurima Tuli. And we must say, she looks beautiful. She is described as a wild beauty who has immense magical powers but is unaware of them.

The scene then shifts to a Prince (Vishal Aaditya Singh), who is actually supposed to kill Princess Chandrakanta but ends up falling in love with her. And the Prince too is unaware of the fact that none other than Chandrakanta herself, is destined to be his true love.

What's good:

We can say with conviction, that the makers have NOT gone wrong with the casting here. From the looks of the promo itself, one can sense the chemistry between Madhurima and Vishal. However the storyline may go, we can be assured of the fact that Madhurima and Vishal will be a treat to watch on screen.

Rest assured, if Ekta Kapoor does not drag this show like a few other of her shows, Colors 'Chandrakanta' will be something that we would look forward too.

What we did not like:

Technically, the show is not at par with the VFX parts as Life OK's Chandrakanta is (Colors has a history of extremely bad VFX and Life OK always/ most of the times excels in this department).

There was this certain level of expectation in our minds when Ekta Kapoor and the channel took their own sweet time to launch this one. (We beg to differ here) But the first promo atleast did not live up to those expectations, not to mention that hype that was created around this show.

The Verdict:

Provided that show does not go overboard with drama and is not dragged unnecessarily, Colors' Chandrakanta will be a treat to watch. We are especially looking forward to watching Madhurima and Vishal's crackling chemistry.
