Preity Zinta describes what happened during IPL match

Following India's Operation Sindoor, an IPL match in Dharamshala was halted due to a security threat. Preity Zinta, co-owner of the Punjab Kings, was seen acting with calm resolve as the IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was abruptly suspended last week. The actress has since shared her feelings about the situation on X.

A fan asked Preity Zinta on X, “And we all saw you helping the IPL chairman in evacuating the Dharamshala stadium, what was going through your mind at that time? How were you feeling?"

There was never any doubt regarding everyone’s safety as I trust our armed forces and our government completely. Since the stadium was packed, we wanted to make sure that everyone evacuated safely, and for that it was important for us to stay back so that people didn’t panic looking at us leave. Once the players were sent and people were leaving, I was relieved that everything went well

Footage of the actress assisting officials in evacuating IPL fans quickly spread across social media after the match was suspended. The match, held at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala, was called off mid-game due to a developing national security situation. The suspension followed a drone incursion near Chandigarh by Pakistan, leading to immediate retaliation from Indian forces. The match, which had reached 10.1 overs, was stopped as authorities initiated rapid evacuation procedures.

Later that week, Preity Zinta posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the officials for ensuring everyone's safe departure from Dharamshala. “Finally back home after a crazy last few days," wrote Preity, further stating, “A heartfelt thank you to Indian Railways & our Railway minister Mr Ashwini Vaishnaw for helping both IPL teams and all officials & families leave Dharamshala in a safe, swift & comfortable way (sic)."

Following the incident, she extended her gratitude to BCCI and IPL authorities for their orderly handling of the situation. She praised the Dharamshala crowd for evacuating the stadium calmly. Preity also apologized to her fans for being unable to fulfill their photo requests.
