Prakash Jha shares an update on the making of Raajneeti 2 and Gangaajal 3

Prakash Jha, a renowned filmmaker in Bollywood recognized for his impactful movies on social and political issues, has recently revealed exciting updates on his upcoming projects. Jha is currently immersed in crafting the script for Raajneeti 2, the highly anticipated sequel to his successful film. Moreover, he has confirmed that work is underway on the script for the next chapter in the Gangaajal series. In addition to these projects, Jha is exploring the possibility of creating a film centered around the life of Sunanda Pushkar. Fans are eagerly anticipating these sequels, and Jha's insights have sparked even more interest in these upcoming projects.

He is making a comeback to acting in the film Amar Aaj Marega, helmed by director Rajat Kariya. This movie had its premiere at the International Film Festival of India in Goa. At the event, he engaged in a discussion with India Today, where he divulged intriguing insights about his future projects, which include sequels to Raajneeti and Gangaajal.

When questioned about re-releasing his films amidst the trend of reviving old movies, the filmmaker dismissed the idea, stating that audiences have already had multiple viewings of his films. "I meet people who say they have watched Gangaajal 40-50 times, so I don't think there's any need to release it in theatres again," he shared.

He also spilled the beans on the progress of the sequels to the Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer Raajneeti and the Ajay Devgn starrer Gangaajal. He said, "We are working on Raajneeti 2; the script is being written. We are also working on the Gangaajal sequel, and work is in progress on its script, too.”

He elaborated on how audiences continue to appreciate the 'police society dynamics' and acknowledged its lasting impact. Jha also expressed his aspiration to delve into the story of Sunanda Pushkar, deeming it an 'interesting subject' that holds the promise of being a captivating film. While he didn't reveal further specifics, fans are eagerly anticipating the cinematic experience that these ambitious projects will bring.

The filmmaker, primed for his screen comeback, confessed to experiencing a unique thrill while promoting his film as an actor. He acknowledged his sole concentration on his performance, refraining from filmmaker interventions during scenes. Jha is actively pursuing roles that push his boundaries and contribute significantly to the film. As a result, he is immersing himself in script readings and might unveil another acting project soon if all falls into place.
