Prachi Hada, aka Keerat, shares her perspective on the character transformation in 'Teri Meri Doriyaann'

In an exclusive interview with India Forums, Prachi Hada delves into her character's development and discusses the challenges she faced while filming.

Keerat was a lone roarer, but recently, we can see a huge shift in her character from being bold to now being unable to assert her opinions. What's your take on this?

Keerat, a resilient wrestler, has always stood up for her family and her principles, never backing down from a fight against injustice. When she faced the harrowing experience of her coach's misconduct, her biggest dilemma was whether to prioritize her championship opportunity or speak out against the wrongdoing. This storyline sheds light on the common fear many girls experience when confronting unusual or uncomfortable situations, often leading to silence out of fear. Keerat's inability to confide in her close-knit family, particularly her sister Sahiba, highlights the crucial need for a strong support system during times of distress, emphasizing the distinction between physical and mental strength.

When Sahiba took a stand for Keerat, it highlighted the crucial need for a support system, regardless of one's strength. Our writers and producers aimed to raise awareness that physical strength does not equate to mental resilience. Even the strongest individuals may require emotional support during difficult times. A girl may possess immense physical strength, yet when faced with mental distress, she cannot rely solely on her physical abilities; she needs someone to stand by her side. Regarding Veer's behavior towards Keerat, I feel fortunate that my producers are giving me this opportunity to have a graph of a character. Keerat is depicted as a formidable individual who cannot tolerate injustice. Despite her initial reluctance towards marriage, she accepted Veer's proposal due to his unwavering support and understanding nature. However, as often happens in real life, overnight success can lead to changes in people. Keerat observes this transformation in Veer.

How challenging was it to shoot the scene where Veer was forceful towards Keerat?

Honestly, it was quite challenging for me, especially considering that this is my debut on television. While I've had experience in short films, films, and web series, I hold a particular standard when it comes to portraying any role. Upon learning about the scenes from the creative team, I emphasized the need to understand the intricacies and essential aspects of each scene. I had a discussion with the director, Prabhas sir, who has a genuine approach towards shooting and portraying it on television, as television is a big medium. He conveyed his perspective to the creatives, ensuring that the scenes were executed thoughtfully.

Working alongside Jatin (Veer) was a pleasant experience. He's genuinely humble and considerate, making him an excellent co-actor. The scene was handled smoothly, with no discomfort or apprehension on my part. Jatin constantly checked in on me, ensuring my well-being, particularly during scenes that required physical contact. Both my co-actor and director, along with the rest of the team, made the process comfortable and straightforward for me. While I initially anticipated the scene to be challenging, my director and my co-actor made it very easy for me, making it much more manageable.
