Nothing in the acting profession, irrespective of whether it is Bollywood or Television, is permanent. Not even Success and Failure. There are many examples of the above that we can vouch for.
People remember all those who come tumbling down from the success ladder and also those who start from scratch and climb their way to the top.
There is another category here as well. That of side actors or second leads that have made it big in the industry.
Tellybuzz brings to you a few such names who started their career playing side kicks and then went on to play main leads in their next shows. And one thing we assure you of is that this list includes some of your favorite actors!

Sanaya Irani started her industry journey with Yashraj Films' Fanaa. But her stint in television started with Left Right Left in 2007. She then did a small role in Radha Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi. Her claim to fame was her parallel lead role in another multi-starrer Miley Jab Hum Tum, which gave her name, popularity and love. Thereon, there is no looking back for the actress. She went on to play the main leads in shows like Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon and Rang Rasiya which have catapulted her to great heights.

Remember Dr.Muskaan Chaddha from Dill Mill Gayye? The jhalli and loud doctor with a larger than life appearance and personality... That is Drashti Dhami for you guys. Drashti started off her career with music video Saiyaan Dil Mein Aana Re, but her claim to fame was Dr. Muskaan's role in Dill Mill Gayye. Drashti then went on to do shows like Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi, Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon and Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani where she played the leading lady.

Shiny Doshi, debuted with Saraswatichandra, a big budget project where she played the pretty Jennifer Winget's sister Kusum. Shiny went unnoticed in the initial episodes but later on went on to grab eyeballs for her looks and acting skills. After Saraswatichandra ended, Shiny got the lead role in Sarojini, a show about an independent woman who gets married into a regressive patriarchal family.

She is synonymous as Pragya these days. Even though she started her career long back with Disney's Dhoom Machao Dhoom and was also seen playing Sneha Wagh's sister in Jyoti, she came into the limelight with Life OK's show based on domestic violence Dil Se Di Dua... Saubhagyavati Bhava? Currently she is impressing one and all with her portrayal of Pragya in Kumkum Bhagya.

Who would believe that Pooja Gor is only three serials old? Pooja started her tinsel town stint with Kitani Mohabbat Hai season 1. She played the role of Purvi, Kritika Kamra's sister on the show. She then bagged a very strong role in Star Plus' Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya and that got her instant recognition. Today, she is a household name.

Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar
Tejaswi Prakash Wayangankar's claim to fame was Colors' hit daily Swaragini where she plays one of the titular roles Ragini. But not many know that Tejaswi started her television career with 2612/2613. She then went on to do Sanskaar-Dharohar Apnon Ki opposite Jay Soni. She however got very less or no recognition from both these shows.
As we said earlier, these actors started their career with side roles and second leads. But with a little bit of luck and sheer talent on their sides, look where these stars have reached today.
