Poonam Pandey Reacts to Getting Arrested by Mumbai Police; Applauds the Police Force for Doing their Job

As reported earlier, model and actress Poonam Pandey was taking into custody for breaking the lockdown rules and going out and about having fun around the city.

The actress was booked by the Mumbai Police last night for violating the Coronavirus lockdown rules and was caught red-handed by the Police at Mumbai’s famous promenade, the Marine Drive, along with her filmmaker friend Sam Ahamad Bombay.

However, now,reacting to the news making rounds about her breaking the lockdown and getting arrested, Poonam has shared with us that she was out just to buy essentials. She has also applauded the Mumbai Police force for doing their job flawlessly.

It’s funny to be sitting at home and watching the news that I’ve been arrested. Yes, my BMW has been impounded by the Marine Drive police as I was out to by some essentials. It’s not altogether a bad experience as I got to meet a real hero, Jitendra Kadam of the Mumbai Police, who was in news recently for his bravery. I personally applaud the Mumbai Police for doing their job exceptionally well and keeping us safe during these circumstances.

Reportedly, the duo was spotted taking drives around the city without any permit or admissible reason. Eventually, they were stopped at one of the nakabandis and immediately taken in custody by the Police force stationed at the spot. A case against the two was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Poonam and Sam Ahamad have been booked under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code.

Later, after confiscating her car, the  the Mumbai Police released Poonam and her friend with a stern warning to not leave their homes. However, her car won't be released and will remain seized under police custody.

The report added that Poonam and Sam were given permission to leave the police station only after thorough investigation and after taking down the details of their travel journey. Reportedly, they had traveled all the way from Bandra to Marine Drive for the mere purpose of pleasure.

A police official revealed to ANI, "A case under the National Disaster Management Act has been registered against Poonam Shobnath Pandey at 8 PM by Marine Drive Police Station. Her car has also been seized by the police”

A few months ago, precisely in February this year, Poonam Pandey made it to the headlines after she filed a case against Raj Kundra and his associates in the court. She had alleged Raj and his associates of using the content that featured on her app, despite the termination of their contract. In his justification, Raj claimed that he left the company which was managing the app in Dec 2019.
