Pooja is now Mrs. Pooja Kanwal Mahtani!

Pooja Kanwal was last seen on Sony's Palampur Express where she portrayed the lead role of Pawni. The girl has now happily tied the knot with long time beau Avinash Mahtani who is into jewelry business.

The story of how the two met will make you realize how cupid can strike you anywhere, anytime!
Says Pooja, "My family has been going to this one specific shop when it comes to jewelry shopping. One day I accompanied my mom there and started talking to Avinash and we just realized we had a lot of common interests as well as common friends. We also got to know that we both go to the same gym (laughs). Things just started from there and after three years of dating we just decided to take the next step."

Pooja and Avinash's families had always been supportive of their relationship. "Right since the beginning of our relationship our parents always supported us. So there was no need for us to go and confront them with the news as such (smiles)."

Pooja cheerfully tells us about how the whole wedding ceremony took place. She says, "We took the pheras at the Hare Rama Hare Krishna temple in Juhu. This was followed by a reception at The Leela in Andheri. I wore an Anarkali suit for my wedding, designed by Sabyasachi and a Manish Malhotra sari for the reception."

Pooja just returned on the 25th from her honeymoon trip to Thailand. "It's been only a few days since I returned. I'll go through the scripts that come my way and will take up anything that interests me either on television or the big screen," she signs off.
