Pooja Bhatt has been cast in the social drama 'Sanaa,' which also stars Radhika Madan. The film is written and directed by ‘Loev’ fame Sudhanshu Saria.

'Sanaa,' according to the official synopsis, is about a headstrong and ambitious girl (Madan) who is fighting an internal battle rooted in unhealed trauma.

Bhatt, who made her acting comeback last year with the show 'Bombay Begums,' said she is excited to be a part of a film like 'Sanaa,' which examines women's lives in a true sense. 'Sanaa' is a deeply moving and astonishingly perceptive film that captures society's judgments around women in a way that will jolt a lot of people out of their preconceived notions and comfort zone,Bhatt said in a statement.

Without revealing any details about Bhatt's character, Saria stated that it is "tailor-made" for her.

Pooja is a perfect fit for this tailor-made role in 'Sanaa.' Saria is confident that her legacy as an actor and as a woman's voice will add depth to the role she'll be playing in the film. He said he is excited that she has joined them at Four Line Entertainment on this adventure, he said.

Radhika Madan began filming for the film in Mumbai last month. Apart from her, Sohum Shah and Shikha Talsania also star in 'Sanaa.'
