26th of January is officially India's Republic Day. Tellybuzz asked some of our telly actors to share with us their thoughts and actions on true patriotism.
Over to them...

Sukirti Khandpal:

Yeah…I'll tell you there's one incident that I remember very clearly. I was at the Breach Candy Club where I saw this group of foreigners who were telling bad things about India. And they were actually British! I don't know what happened to me then, I just went upto them and said, listen you can't just go on saying things like this. Especially standing on Indian soil. And moreover whatever you have you got it from us. So, the fact that I spoke up to defend my country made me feel very patriotic.
Suggest 5 things that people can do to be more responsible citizen of India?
Please don't dirty our country…keep it clean. Stand for national anthem…it upsets me to see that many people don't stand for the National Anthem in movie theatres. Don't badmouth our country…our country is the most free country and its time we start appreciating it. Buy more Indian products…especially when it comes to cosmetics; we go for foreign brands because we feel they are better as they are priced high but I don't think it's that way. Contribute to the country…I feel if everyone does their best then our country will have tremendous growth.
Abhishek Rawat:

My father was an Army doctor. I have seen the situations during Kargil war, how young soldiers used to lie in a blood pool. War made me feel unusually patriotic.

Awareness is the one thing that makes people more responsible. We have been taught in our school many things to make our country a better place to stay, but still we don't follow those basic things. We still throw things out of our car window, do not switch off the lights when it is not required. If we keep following the basic things, we will be responsible citizens.
Perneet Chauhan:

Right now, I was watching the new version of Miley Sur Mera Tumhara on Zoom. So that made me feel ultra patriotic because that reminded how culturally enriched our country is and in spite of the diversity we all get along pretty well. I also feel patriotism is ingrained in me because all of my family members are in the defence. My dada is from army, my nana is from navy, my uncle and dad both are also in the defence.

Vote. Don't be indifferent to what is happening around you. Sometimes it's good to act. Need to have civic sense. Obey rules and regulations of government. Pay taxes.
Pankaj Singh Tiwari :

It was last year on 26th January, I was out with my friends in South Mumbai when a small kid selling Tiranga (the tricolour) came to me and requested me to buy. I was so emotional seeing him that day I did two things that made me proud one is kept Tiranga in my car and second helping that kid.
Suggest 5 things that people can do to be more responsible citizen of India?
Firstly stop criticizing about our country. Don't just talk of faults. We should think of getting rid of it rather than just criticizing. Also youngsters and great talent who go outside and work should work for our country rather than using our talent for other countries.
Shraddha Nigam :

I remember during the floods in Mumbai, how people came out to support and help each other. They shared whatever they had and tried their level best to help each other. That time I felt so proud!

Don't litter. Vote I know that when crisis happens everyone gets together but I want to say we can get together for the betterment of the county too. And lastly I want to add that we have a very rich culture, very fertile and so we should not forget our roots.
Mohit Malhotra :

Blasts in Mumbai.

Save water, switch off cars on red light, save electricity, be human, and promote our culture.
