OMG: Did 'Taarak Mehta..' get INSPIRED from 'Game Of Thrones'??

Well, it is tough to ignore this one..!

It seems the infamous trend of getting INSPIRED' from the English epic drama series, Game Of Thrones' is getting hotter with every passing day. Shows like 'Sasural Simar Ka' and 'Nagarjun - Ek Yoddha' have gone ahead and done that already.

Be it duplicating the Hall Of Faces style of promo or constructing the ditto of Iron Throne, shows haven't failed to remind you that we are still lacking creativity.

The latest to join this bandwagon is none other than India's longest running and beloved sitcom, 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'. The show is one of the most popular comedy shows and will be completing a whopping eight years of runtime in the next eleven days.

As much as the jokes, situational comedy sketches in the show still tickle the funny bones, one cannot deny that the quality of the same has degraded substantially with time. However, the last thing we would want from the makers of the show is to adapt an already popular storyline and try to incorporate it in any existing storyline.

Here it goes...

The recent track showcased how Popatlal (Shyam Pathak) falls for a girl who is mysteriously involved in a drug cartel. After various turbulent situations, Popatlal finally finds out that the girl wasn't actually involved in the gang, but was in fact an undercover spy who wanted to expose the culprits.

You must be wondering; Ok! That seems fine, where is the INSPIRATION from Game Of Thrones' we are talking about.

Well, it cannot be that easy for Mr. Un-marriageable Popatlal to get a girl, right? However, after various reasons for various girls coming and going out of Popatlal's life, this time it was left to a reason beyond one's imagination.

The GIRL was actually a GUY...As preposterous as that sounds, it's the truth.

The girl was actually a man who adapted the mask of a girl to get involved in the gang and expose them..

And that made me directly relate the same to the famous Face Mask that a girl', Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) adapted to kill Walder Frey (David Bradley) in the season finale of 'Game Of Thrones' Season 6.

The sheer similarity of the style of plot is quite uncanny and bizzare, isn't it?

'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' has already crossed several milestones retaining its viewership for such a long time and is still going strong. With eleven days away from completion of eight years, the show is also just nineteen episodes away from the magical 2000 episode mark.

And we certainly hope, that in the future such INSPIRATIONAL adaptations are avoided and we get the true-blue humour, we know that the show is capable of.

first, this track in the show has already ended on last week, and that was a twist not a copy from english ones.i feel india forums are trying to popularise the english shows on this platform, perhaps the reporter is a fan of got.in cid too we have witnessd same kind of things from the beginning even before the craze of GOT.then u can say it might be a copy of hindi soaps.pls get a life, tellychakkar has become a far better
platform than india forums, most of the news i see here are copied from tellychakkar

Masks being used in hindi serials is not a new thing. I think the writer is just trying to show that he/she is a GOT fan. Such a forced article.

Sarabhai vs Sarabhai S2, please come soom..what you have achieved in only 60 episodes is unbeatable.. the most iconic sitcom of India in its true sense.

Pardon me, try watching Indian movies along with the English ones. You might end up finding such similarities more often.

For example,

Forget Games of thrones. Raja Jani happened much earlier in 1972 where an impostor wore Dharmendra's mask to trick Hema Malini.

For reference :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PotCnnPm4CY ,.. Watch from 2.14.21

Unfortunately, not every inspiration is English.
