Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 on the big screens. Fans have been raving about the film's trailer since it was first unveiled. Everything in this film transports us to a bygone era. People who have seen the Akshay and Vidya Balan starrer will notice a lot of similarities, whether it's the title track, which is a remake of the Akshay Kumar starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa, or the presence of Manjulika in the trailer. However, in a recent interview, Kiara Advani stated emphatically that she is not stepping in someone else's footsteps.

Talking to a leading news portal, Kiara Advani claimed that she had no trouble saying yes to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Despite her dislike towards horror films, she enjoyed the Akshay Kumar starter.

She mentioned that they sought to keep the spirit of the original as well as other features like Manjulika's name in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. She went on to say that this is a whole new tale. "This is a horror-comedy, not a psychological thriller." "There's a layer of dark magic," Kiara said.

We've all seen Vidya Balan in the 2007 popular flick Manjulika, where she played Manjulika. So, when Kiara Advani was asked if she felt any pressure when she took over the reins, she agreed to it and further clarified that she is not portraying the role and that the film is not a remake, so she would not be stepping into someone else's shoes. "I wanted to do the film because a genre like that might be turned into a family entertainer," she continued.

Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is Kiara and Kartik's first film with each other. Rajpal Yadav, Amar Upadhyay, Sanjay Mishra, and Milind Gunaji will also appear in the film. It will be directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar, and will be released on May 20, 2022. It is a stand-alone sequel to Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, and Shiney Ahuja's 2007 film of the same name.
