No shortcuts to success - says Casting Director Raj Pandey!

There is a beeline of actors outside every producer's office every single day. Everyone wants to become a star and it's not that easy because nothing comes on a platter. There are no shortcuts to success. 

We often think that to become an actor, one must be good looking and should have a presentable physique. But that's not all. The industry craves for talented people. For example, if it was only for good looks and physique, we wouldn't see an unconventional actor like Nawazuddin Siddique making acclaimed performances on the 70 mm screen.  

Currently a casting director of TV show Thapki...Pyaar Ki (SOL Productions), Raj Pandey sheds some light on the expectations from the industry and uncovers the myths told to aspiring actors. 

Speaking about creating a video, Raj said, "I created this video especially for the newcomers, who think that by paying money or doing 'jugaad', anyone can become an actor. But these are the people who encounter fake casting directors. If it was so easy, an actor would have his entire family on a particular show. There are no shortcuts to success. Work hard and let your work speak volumes about your passion for acting. Casting directors are always on the hunt for casting talented fresh faces along with established stars and if you have it in you; they will shortlist you during the auditions no matter what!"

Not many casting directors try making a change in the industry. Kudos Raj!
