No Holi for Bachchans

This is the third year running that the Bachchans have decided to give the celebrations a miss.

Blogging on his blog from his Prateeksha residence on Saturday night, Amitabh Bachchan confirmed his family's decision not to celebrate Holi.

Penning down the reason to the death of a close relative to family friend of politician Amar Singh, Bachchan senior continued on to say that the family also did not feel comfortable celebrating when many had lost their lives in the recent Pune blast.

This is the third year running that the Bachchans have decided to give the celebrations a miss. Whilst last year was a sign of respect for the 26/11 victims, 2008 was due to the death of Amitabh's mother, Teji Bachchan.

However Big B was not above passing on his wishes to his fans and rounded of with, "Happy Holi! And may the colours bright and beautiful ever remain with you in celebration. May it bring peace and calm and may it become the turning point for good tidings."
