Ira Khan has been at the center of all the attention recently for giving us spotting and interesting fashion takes but it is this news which has gotten us all even more excited. In the most recent development, Ira Khan will be marking her directorial debut with not a movie but very unconventionally, a play with a Greek tragedy story-line- a classic ‘Euripides’ Medea’ which will be showcased in select Indian cities, this year end.

It is interesting to see how in the age of on-screen debuts for Bollywood, Ira has chosen to venture into a theater space and bring the lesser-known yet rich Greek tragedy and mythology to the stage. 

Talking about her debut, Ira shares, "There's no particular reason that I decided to start with theatre. I love theatre, its magical and all-consuming; in its classical form, in the world of technology, its very real and physical. I love the suspension of disbelief that the audience allows for because then there's so much you can express."

Sources close to her reveal that she has already commenced work on her directorial in full force where the premiere of her play is scheduled to happen in December, this year.  

The rehearsals for the play will be starting soon and will happen in Mumbai itself. 

Amongst the much awaited debuts, Ira Khan’s directorial debut is even more keenly awaited.
