Khushi Kapoor says she didn’t do ’10–20 things’, calls out unreal beauty expectations

Khushi Kapoor, who made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, has addressed long-standing speculation around her appearance. Speaking to ETimes, the young actor confirmed she has undergone cosmetic procedures but added that the extent of these changes has often been exaggerated by the public. “Yes, I have changed my looks. But everyone thinks I’ve done some 10–20 things on myself. It’s obviously not the case,” she said. Khushi clarified that while she has chosen to alter certain aspects of her appearance, she hasn’t drastically transformed her face. “I care about my looks but haven’t changed every single thing about my face,” she added.

For Khushi, transparency is key. “I don’t think going under the knife for your looks is such a big deal,” she said, emphasising that she doesn’t feel the need to hide anything from the public. “For me, it’s not okay to be dishonest with people around me about my looks.”

She also spoke about the double standards that celebrities, especially women, face when it comes to appearance. “There are a lot of impressionable youngsters who follow us on the internet. If we don’t do something about our looks, people judge us. If we do, feeding into our insecurities, then also people have a problem. You’re not going to win either way,” she explained.

While some may view cosmetic enhancements as taboo, Khushi seems to take a practical stance. “All actors groom themselves. Vanity is part of the job,” she said, acknowledging the pressure of maintaining a certain image in the industry. However, she was clear about not wanting to mislead young audiences. “I don’t want to set unrealistic standards of beauty, and so I became open about the procedures I had done to look like this.”

Khushi, who is rumoured to be dating The Archies co-star Vedang Raina, was most recently seen in the Netflix film Nadaaniyan alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan. The film marked Ibrahim’s debut and continued Khushi’s early but closely watched film career.
