Neil Bhatt: The dignity of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin is that all the characters are beautifully flawed
India Forums got in touch with Neil Bhatt aka Virat, and we asked him if there's anything he'd like to change about his character and Ayesha's and here's what he told us.

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin on Star Plus has always been one of the top shows on Indian television and it continues to rule the charts. While the show has been facing its own set of twists and turns, Neil Bhatt as Virat and Ayesha Singh as Sai have received immense love for the show. In fact, it was on October 5 that the show clocked in one whole year.
A lot is said about the characters and the show, however, there often are moments when as an actor, one might feel that a change in their character would make things better. India Forums got in touch with Neil aka Virat, and we asked him if there's anything he'd like to change about his character and Ayesha's. He says, ''In the hindsight, when you think about how I would like to change so and so aspect about a certain role, it is easier said than done. The way they are, they way they have been devised, I don't think I am in any position to say anything that okay, if we do it like this, it would be better. I don't think I could say that I want to change this, or change, because if we change things, we don't have the same people that the audiences have connected to.''
He added, ''I think they are wonderfully flawed characters, not Sai as much as Virat, he is more flawed. I think the dignity of the show is that all the characters are beautifully flawed, the more you try to change them, and try to perfect the flaws, that is a myth, because there is nothing like a perfect person, it takes away the charm of the character.''
Currently, Sai is in the hospital and while Virat has been having a tough time coming to terms with what is going on, he is worried about her and how will things proceed continues to be awaited.

Well said Neil. Accepting ones flaws and working on them to be better people is indeed dignified. No one is perfect but pretending to be perfect and being judgemental about others flaws is weak and cowardly. Thank you for giving your best to Virat. He does evoke some interesting emotions.

Well said, Neil. Agree with you. Imperfection is the part and parcel of life. Noone is perfect. And,so is Virat and yes he's shown to be more flawed than Sai. But, atleast he accepts and apologises unlike others who don't even look back at their mistakes and apologise.

A weird obsession runs for virat ki kissi tarah se bash kar le jaha bhi mauka mile . Main bhi seekh rahi hoon aisa karna . It shows love him hate him but u can ignore him.

Haha .. ghum should come up with a new dictionary …Neil please follow the ghum dictionary of abuse , toxicity not the official English dictionary…as per official dictionary, it’s flawed but as per ghum it’s abuse , toxic . Neil I am disappointed that you haven’t learned this yet

Agree with everything Neil said. Imperfections in charecters make them relatable since no one is perfect in this world.. At some point or the other a person may falter. Virat faltered But repented . There is no rule that the man can not falter again. He would but again he all realise. The journey continues. For some it may be shorter for others it may continue till the end.

Woww...just woww. An abusive husband who kicks his wife out of the house at midnight without thinking about her safety, who denies her food, who manhandles her, who locks her up in a room to discipline her is being justified by calling him "flawed". There's nothing dignified about this show which normalises domestic abuse and attempts to romanticise such relationships.Actors should think once before justifying their onscreen characters. Not everything can be passed under the garb of being flawed.
