Actress Neha Yadav, who plays the role of Rambha in Dangal TV’s Ishq Ki Daastan- Naagmani, says that playing this character is no easy feat. In fact, the actress says she loves it when people compliment her on her portrayal as it has taken a lot of hard work.
“My character is very entertaining but, at the same time, playing this character is very different as well. Someone told me that nobody could have played this character better than me, and that is clearly the best compliment I have got so far,” she says.
She adds, “My character is a shape shifter and I don't carry my character at home. Having said that, there are some characteristics which I relate to like cracking jokes, laughing. Initially, it was a bit difficult for me to get into the skin of my character but, with time, it became part of me. It's important to disconnect from the character mentally and emotionally. But also, it’s important to remember to add a bit of you does in your character as well.”
However, the actress says that she has always been aware of the effort daily soaps take and was prepared. “Daily soaps require a lot of hard work, sincerity, dedication because we shoot for about 12-13 hours a day so literally you give your life in a way to the show, and so, you have to enjoy it. From my daily drive to the set to acting in front of the camera; I love everything about my job. I want to make the most out of it and I am making the most of it. Not everybody gets to do what they really love and a lot of people compromise as well,” she says.
Dangal TV is a great platform, says Neha, adding, “Dangal TV has become very popular, and rightfully so. It's got an amazing set of shows that connect well the audience; be it be their fantasy shows such as Naagmani or daily soaps. I think their shows are different from the other kind of daily soaps that are there. It’s just great and I am glad that I am part of the show and platform which is growing by leaps and bounds.”
Meanwhile, Hindi TV shows have also started showing more relatable content, she says. “Hindi shows have evolved content-wise and there is an audience for all kind of content today. I feel like television reaches the interiors, whereas OTT platforms don’t have the same reach. It becomes a part of people's daily life. That is one thing that you can never take away from TV. There is everything on TV: fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, comedy, drama. You get every flavour and the audience can watch whatever they want,” she says.
