The Drishyam 2 wave has come as a massive eye-opener for many out there where not many expected it to perform so well given the current state of movie-watching experience. Barely a few Bollywood films have worked in essence where the likes of Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and now, Drishyam 2 joined the list of big successes.

And when it comes to Drishyam 2, the film saw some fantastic performances as well and one of them was that of Neha Joshi. Joshi played a pivotal role in the film and we managed to get into an exclusive conversation with the actor and asked her about multiple things.

First, when we asked her about the film and how did she bag the project, she said, "I played he role of 'Jenny Thomas', who is initially seen as the neighbour of the Salgaonkar family. She shares a very special bond with Shriya’s character Nandini in the film. Later, in one of the twists in the tale, it is revealed that she has been an undercover cop all along."

She added, "I remember, after my audition I met Abhishek Pathak, the director of Drishyam 2 who sat down and explained the part to me. At that time, I had not watched the Malayalam film, so I wasn’t aware of the character. My initial audition scene was that of Jenny the neighbour so when I met Abhishek, he told me that he was now keen on seeing Jenny as the tough cop. Then there were few more rounds of auditions along with a proper screen test to check how Jenny and Shiv looked together as a couple and as cops. All of this went on for about four to five months after which I finally the confirmation."

There’s a lot of appreciation for the body language of Jenny as the neighbour and Jenny the cop and both the looks. I truly have the team to thank for the collective effort

She further added, "I was extremely happy when the casting was finalised. It wasn’t just because it’s a big film that has been a superhit with big actors but also the fact that my character was so interesting and significant to the story. It had such a massive transformation and in one film and the fact that I would be able to potray multiples sides to Jenny really excited me."

When we asked about the film's roaring success and her response, she said, "The response I have received has been overwhelming. Till date, so many people are reaching out to me and my family with such nice things to say about the film and the character. One thing that I am really happy about that nobody came up to me and said that they had predicted Jenny’s transition or that any part of my performance gave it away. They all felt that Jenny as the neighbour was extremely genuine as much as pulling off the transition as the cop. So that’s the biggest success of this character. I’m also receiving a lot of love for the look of guilt I have on my face when the Salgaonkar family realise my true identity. There’s a lot of appreciation for the body language of Jenny as the neighbour and Jenny the cop and both the looks. I truly have the team to thank for the collective effort."

When it comes to her workfront, Joshi has been in the Marathi industry predominantly but has also done a few Hindi language projects as well.
