Neerja Bhanot's family refuses to accept any money for her biopic

The makers of Neerja were surprised when Neerja Bhanot's family refused to take any money for her biopic.

Sonam Kapoor is on a spree promoting her upcoming film 'Neerja'. The film is based on late flight attendant, Neerja Bhanot who risked and lost her life in rescuing the fellow passengers from the terrorists on flight.

Neerja's bravery and sacrifice is what has made director Ram Madhvani to make a biopic on her and it seems that Neerja's family has supported this good cause as well.

According to a report in a leading daily, Neerja Bhanot's family has not accepted a single penny for her biopic from the producer and director of the film.

A source was quoted in the report saying, "The makers haven't paid any money for rights to use her story. When they decided to make this film, they immediately got in touch with Neerja's family who lives in Chandigarh. They met her mother and two brothers to discuss what they had in mind. After the discussion, Neerja's brother just had one request; they wanted Neerja's honour and respect to remain intact in the film. They didn't ask for money". [sic]

The report also quoted director Ram Madhvani stating that, "We are all touched by Neerja's family gesture (for not accepting any money). We all have given our 100% to live up to their expectations and do fill justice to Neerja's story". [sic]

Well, Neeja's family's generous attitude is quite commendable and shows the love and respect they have towards her.
