Actress Neena Gupta is making headlines as she shares various anecdotes from her personal and professional life in her autobiography titled 'Sach Kahun Toh'. The book was written by the actress last year, and Kareena Kapoor Khan recently launched it.
In a recent interview, Neena recalls reading news about her that had no truth to them. She says it was common to come across 'unbelievable' reports that were written about her, and even reacted to a particular news report suggesting that she had taken up a job as a 'salesgirl' at carpet shop. She told The Quint:
“So many times, you don't know what lies people have written about me. When I was very new here, I remember they wrote in some film magazine, 'Neena Gupta is working as a salesgirl in Shyam Ahuja's shop'."
“Believe me, I did not know who Shyam Ahuja was at that time. We couldn't afford Shyam Ahuja, I did not know who he is. I asked my friends about him. They said he has a carpet shop. Why? Why I was working (there)? Unbelievable. My fault; I feed them that."
Further, Neena also shares that one piece of advice that she'd give her younger self is "Focus on your work; don't focus on men."
Besides, Neena has also opened up about several sour experiences in her book including one when David Dhawan shouted at her on set, when Subhash Ghai demanded her to wear ‘padded blouse’ during shooting of song ‘ Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’ and more.
