Neena Gupta admits to feeling envious of younger actresses getting global exposure

Neena Gupta, a veteran actress in Bollywood, has been making a comeback in recent years with successful films like "Badhaai Ho" and "The Last Color". Despite her career resurgence, Neena admits to feeling envious of the younger generation of actresses who are now achieving global success. During a recent interview with News 18, she expressed her mixed feelings about seeing actresses like Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, and Priyanka Chopra gain international recognition. She wished that she had the same opportunities during her time. Neena is known for speaking her mind on various issues, and believes that age should not be a barrier to success in the industry.

Neena Gupta revealed having mixed feelings as she saw the younger generation making it significant internationally. The actress wished she was a young actor today. She said she wisheswishes they also had the same kind of exposure, and thinks about it every minute. She also feels envious every second (smiles). Neena further said she wonders what if she was a young actor in this day and age! She could have achieved so much more. 

She concluded by saying it is known that everything that one wishes for cannot be obtained. Though all the work that is coming her way at this age is appreciated, a feeling of jealousy is experienced by her when they are seen wearing gowns and walking on the global stage. For the unversed, Deepika Padukone was a presenter at the 95th Academy Awards in March in LA. Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt made India proud at the recently held MET Gala 2023

In the same interview, Neena Gupta mentioned that if she were ever invited to a global event, she would have her designer daughter, Masaba Gupta, put together her look. She joked that she did not have the body to wear a gown so she would opt for a beautiful saree instead.

Regarding her work front, Neena Gupta was last seen in Rani Mukerji's movie "Mrs Chatterjee VS Norway." She has also finished filming for "Charlie Chopra & The Mystery of Solang Valley." At present, she is busy shooting for "Metro In Dino." Additionally, Neena has a role in the upcoming movie "Lust Stories 2."
