Amitabh Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda

Despite being out of the movie business, Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda enjoys the same level of social media fame just like any Bollywood diva. Navya shares very close bond with Big B and recently joined him at a health telethon where specialists also talked about ways to improve women's health. At the time, Big B's granddaughter stated that it was a positive development to talk about menstruation in public in front of her grandfather. She also mentioned that she grew up in a home where she felt at ease having these conversations, which are still forbidden in other households.

Rashmika Mandanna and Dia Mirza also came to that same NDTV event. Amitabh agreed with Rashmika after she remarked that teens today find it awkward to talk to their parents about taboo subjects and that he views menstruation as a "sign of recreation.'

Navya agreeing to Big B said, "It's a sign of life, as he said. That's not something we should feel embarrassed or afraid to do. Although menstruation has long been considered taboo, progress has been made. Being on stage now discussing about periods with my grandfather is development in and of itself. We have advanced, not just as women but as a nation, as evidenced by the fact that we are here on a podium with plenty of people watching us and discussing menstruation openly."

In terms of work, Navya recently launched her debut podcast, ‘What the Hell Navya’. The 31-minute podcast was inclusive of her mother, writer and entrepreneur Shweta Bachchan Nanda, and grandmother, veteran actor Jaya Bachchan and Navya’s opinions on a variety of topics.
