Nine days of fast; nine days of foot tapping music and unstoppable dance; nine days of utmost festivity; nine days of pomp and show... Navratri is on the run.
As it concludes for the year, we cannot help but admit that Navratri is one of the most awaited festivals in not only India but also the overseas. People get a chance to mingle with citizens of diverse cultures and dress up in their most beautiful Indian wear to the hilt.
This is also the time when we invite our loved ones to join the fete and not to forget impress each other with our striking outfits and graceful dancing skills.
On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, TellyBuzz contacted your favourite television stars to design an ensemble for their co-star, recall a moment that put them in a soup and make a list of invitees for their Dandiya party. Well, don't ignore their useful tips on how to impress the opposite sex...
Drashti Dhami:

Actually Maan (Gurmeet Choudhary) looks the best in shirts and trousers but
for the occasion I would like to put him in a white Lucknowi or a
Pathani suit with Dhoti, he would look good in that. I personally never
had a problem with my outfit while dancing but at the same time I used
to trip most of the times because of my Ghagra. Also I am clumsy while
playing Dandiya and have hit people a number of times. But if I get a
chance I would definitely like to play with Shahid Kapoor and invite not
only him but also Leonardo Dicaprio, Hrithik Roshan and Arjun Rampal.

Barun Sobti: For Navratri girls wear the usual colourful Ghagra Choli which is embroidered with lots of mirrors and I would definitely like Sanaya (Sanaya Irani) to wear the same for this occasion. I never played Dandiya seriously and have been safe in that regard. Gone are the days when I could impress girls because I am married now, but I would say, just be yourself! And if I host a Dandiya party, invitations would certainly go out to action heroes like Will Smith, Hugh Jackman, etc. It will be fun to watch them play Dandiya.
Ragini Khanna:

Normally I like boys in white Kurta Pajama, so I guess I
would gift Jay (Jay Soni) a fresh set of white Kurta Pajama. A red tikka
would complete the attire and I think he will look good in that. One
incident I remember was when I was hit very badly by my partner and
broke my nail. That was painful! I never tried to impress anybody
because during such times we just think of having pure fun but I would
like to tell all the girls out there, just be yourself and boys will
come running towards you. If I get a chance I would love to play Dandiya
with Hugh Grant and invite him with Leonardo Dicaprio for my party.

Aditya Redij: Preeto (Ankita Sharma) looks cute in what she wears currently, so I
would like to design the simplest costume for her. I believe that
simple is beautiful. Frankly speaking I have not played Dandiya for a
while and the times I have played in my college, I have hit a lot of
people and got hit in return as well. I think I will have to take tips
from people on how to impress girls but may be gifting a BMW 7 series is
a good option (laughs). On a serious note, just be simple and frank and
do not make up things. Along with all my family and friends, I would
like to invite Falguni Pathak to my Dandiya party because without her we
cannot have great music. I will play with my mom because she is a good
dancer; after all she is a Gujarati.
Pooja Gor:

The traditional Gujarati wear for the occasion is Kediyu and Dhoti pants and I would prefer the same for Arhaan (Arhaan Behll) because that's the authentic wear for the festival. It has been a while since I played Dandiya because after I came to Mumbai, work has always kept me engaged. But I remember my days in Ahmedabad when I had utmost fun during the days of Navratri. We used to play Garba a lot as that is the exact traditional dance; Dandiya is just a part of it. Once I hit a person accidentally so badly that he was in real pain because of which the circle broke. I felt so bad and embarrassed of my act. But everytime the rhythm starts speeding up, you tend to get carried away in full masti. Garba is full of fun and I would like to take all my Punjabi friends from here to my hometown and show them what the real Garba is like. I would want only my friends and family to be there for the festival and please no outsiders (laughs).
The stars would also like to wish their fans a very Happy Navratri...
