India celebrates National Youth Day on January 12 every year to mark the birth anniversary of modern philosopher-monk Swami Vivekananda. This National Youth Day, we at Tellybuzz, decided to treat you all with a list of CHARACTERS that the youth today can look up to.
As surprising as it sounds, apart from the typical Saas-bahu drama that Indian TV shows have, there's a lot to learn from them at the same time as well. So here's our list!
Vivian Dsena aka Harman from Shakti...Astitva Ke Ehsaas Kii

Harman makes it to our list for the sheer fact that he stood upright against his own mother and despite Soumya being a 'Kinnar,' he did not restrain himself from expressing his love for her. He is someone the youth should look up to not because he fought for his love, but because he fought against the societal norms and traditions.
Erica Fernandes aka Sonakshi from Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi

Erica aka Sonakshi from Kuch Rang... deserves a mention in this list because she bursts the age old ideal bahu norm of Indian television. Finally, we have a bahu who does not glorify sacrifice and compromise and is unapologetic about her own feelings and emotions. She does not give in to her mother-in-law's petty demands and rather took things into her own hands. Not to forget, she is a modern day working woman, a nutritionist that she is, who is capable of striking a balance between her work life and personal life equally well. With a momma's boy like Dev (Shaheer Sheikh) and a mother-in-law like Ishwari (Supriya Pilgaonkar), she has been managing things really well.
Arjun Bijlani aka Raghav from Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil

Arjun aka Raghav from 'Pardes mein...' has been the guy who stands up for his girl Naina (Drashti Dhami) and makes sure that nothing goes wrong. He is that innocent guy with a good heart in the show. The high-spirited guy that he is, he would make anyone fall weak in their knees and would always be up for help. What makes him a part of our list is the sorted demeanor and behaviour of his.
Sandhya Mridul aka Naazneen Khan from P.O.W - Bandi Yudh Ke

The kind of approach that Sandhya aka Naazneen has displayed on the show has been firm and upright. After being separated from her husband for over 17 years, during the time he's away, she becomes the urban independent single mother who is on the verge of embarking on a new relationship (with her husband's brother). However, she refrains doing the same and maintains her calm while keeping a cordial relationship with her husband's brother.
Meghna aka Sangeita Chauhan from Swabhimaan

Meghna from Ek Shringaar - Swabhimaan is the ideal daughter and definitely a perfect sister. After having seen her mother struggle for small little things in life, she decided to take things in her hands and get the best for herself and her family while making a name in this world. Good grades, a scholarship, a prestigious job and of course an attitude of her own, she's someone that the youth today should learn from.
