Namik Paul never questioned my vision & had complete faith in me: Prateek Sharma

If you are a loyal fan of Ek Deewaana Tha, then you must be aware about the breathtaking plot twists and engaging story line. Also, with the backing of strong performances by the actors, the show is going places and has already garnered a lot of buzz and appreciation for its unique concept and high entertainment dosage.

And the major credit for the success of the show goes to the producer, Prateek Sharma who has amazingly and creatively helmed the show at such young age. In a candid chat with India Forums, Prateek opens up about his equations with the actors and how the star-cast plays a huge role in making the show a huge hit.

The producer is thankful to actor, Namik Paul for having immense belief in him and the story of the show. Elaborating further, he says, "Hats off to Namik that he put his complete faith and trust in me with regards to his character and never questioned my vision. We are all in a field where every Thursday decides our fate. And for an actor to not have a single dialogue in 2 months, is a huge thing. Namik just had a dialogue in the 11th episode and after that he directly spoke in the Atith ka khulasa' episode. All he asked me was 'bhai, yeh show 6 mahine chalega naa?' I am glad for all the trust Namik has placed in me,"

Ever wonder who encourages the producer to pen down unpredictable moments and suspense in the story, hear it straight from the horse's mouth. Prateek says, "As for Vikram Singh Chauhan, he too has put in a lot of effort as well. Turning the villain after portraying the perfect good guy for so long, it's a huge jump and a big risk. He encourages me to write out-of-the-box whacky stuff and says ' tu likh naa, karte hai yeh sab. Mazaa aayega.'  He's also equally excited to do things."

Did you know that Amar Upadhyay was never on the producer's mind for Rajan's role? The producer spills the beans, "As for Amar Upadhyay, he called me and asked, 'Tu show bana raha hai' and when I told him that I was, he was like t'une mujhe nai bulaya yaar'. I said 'aapka budget bahut jyada hai' so he was like 'mai kar raha hun tera show'. I told him that there was a character for him to do and he did not even listen to what his character was. He agreed immediately. He was like if you are doing it, I am doing it. He always knew that Namik, Donal Bisht and Vikram will be the leads, but also knew that Rajan's character was one of the most important and interesting ones. Even Delnaaz Irani was very excited with her character as she was like she did not do such a character before."
