My Vacation - Ashita Dhawan

Telly Buzz offers a new weekly, where the stars talk about their favorite vacations. This week we have Ashita Dhawan on the hot seat...

I managed taking some time off my shoots and going for a short vacation. I went all alone and had an awesome time during those 10 days. I visited Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi and Genting and even went on a cruise.

Amongst these places I liked Genting the best. It had a very nice theme park and lovely slides. The cable cars were fun to be on. The weather there was cold and foggy. Just perfect for making me happy! I also liked Langkawi as it was a beautiful island. One place that I didn't enjoy much was Kuala Lumpur. I got into depression the moment I stepped out of the airport. I ended up spending just one day there. I don't think I would ever want to go there again. There wasn't much to see around, so I just spent the whole day shopping. The best part about all these places is that each one had a different flavor.

There was this Dolphin show that I went for and really loved it. I have never seen something like that before. The dolphins were dancing and entertaining everyone. They were performing all kinds of stunts as well. The organizers offered us a chance to go into the water and get kissed by a dolphin but I did not. And today I'm really regretting it. I didn't do much of shopping there but yes I did walk around a lot. In the whole enthusiasm of discovering and seeing new places I ended up walking for hours without even realizing. And at the end of it I used to be so tired and exhausted that the moment I would spot a massage parlor I would walk in for a foot massage!

The most surprising thing was, that wherever I went people recognized me and came to speak to me. I remember while I was at Sentosa Islands I could not even have my lunch as some 25-30 fans gathered around me for autographs. I haven't got this kind of response even in Mumbai!

The people were very hospitable and spoke with a lot of respect. I remember when I had previously gone to Germany I had found the people very cold there. They don't even interact with you. But it was quite the opposite out here and I really appreciate the way I was welcomed by the people of this city.

Our guide was one of the best and gave us a lot of information on the places we visited. Everyone spoke good English so I didn't have to face any major communication problems. In fact I bumped into a whole lot of Indians there too.
