My character in Dil Ki Baatein will go through a drastic change with time: Mahima Makwana

Petite Mahima Makwana, who gained immense popularity with Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke where she was essaying the role of Rachna, is currently seen essaying the role of Disha in Sony TV's Dil Ki Baatein.

Mahima is currently seen essaying the character which is very different from Rachna which she has played in her previous show. She is seen in a different look and very bubbly by nature.

TellyBuzz spoke to Mahima to know more about her character, her association with the show and much more.

Talking about her association with the show, Mahima shares, "It's a blessing for any actor to be a part of such a show where Ram Kapoor is playing her father and Gurdeep Kohli is playing a mother. Secondly, Mahesh sir is also looking after the project. It's a different project and any actor would feel blessed and happy to be a part of such an amazing project and I am feeling the same. This project is not like the any other daily soaps revolving around saas bahu sagas. It has something different, very natural and realistic which we come across in our lives day by day. I am really glad to be a part of this project."

Rachna and Disha are quite different from each other. So, we were curious to know whether Mahima is enjoying playing Disha more over Rachna or not and she shares, "I wanted to do a character, which was totally different from Rachna in terms of her look and everything. I was happy to have the narration of my character in this show. I am looking similar to that of my same age on-screen too and people are liking my new look. I am getting compliments from everyone that I am looking bubbly and cute. I am really happy to have a different look from Rachna."  

Talking about the amazing off-screen bonding she shares with everyone on the sets, she adds, "We share an amazing bond with each other off-screen. I was very nervous on the first day to meet Ram sir but he is very sweet and supportive. All the cast and crew of the show are very supportive and they make sure that all the artists on the sets should be really comfortable. I am really enjoying it and blessed to be a part of such an amazing project."  

Mahima also shared that how her character will undergo through a drastic change as the story will develop further. She says, "This role is not like childish and bubbly that people have seen so far. The character of Disha will undergo through a drastic change with time. It's not only an emotional character but it's a strong and an independent character which will be shown after the death of her Mom. It's not only a strong character but a challenging character too. I feel lucky to have this character to play because it's hard to get such roles to play. I am really enjoying it and I hope the audiences too will enjoy watching me in this character."  

We wonder whether is there any similarity between Disha and Mahima. Mahima reveals, "My producer Gurudev Bhalla told me not to make a pattern for your character. You have to behave the same on-screen like you behave in your real life. I had to undergo a drastic change in my real life after I entered this industry. I became mature and started looking up to things with a different point of view. Similarly, Disha's character too will change after the death of her mother and her dad will leave her. She will become mature and independent. She is bubbly and innocent but she has a strong personality. So, it's a different character for me to play."  

After the wrap up of Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Mahima was busy with her studies and recently she has appeared for her board exams. She has started off with her new journey as Disha on a special day. Mahima told us, "It was so surprising for me that I gave my last paper for my board exams on March 23 and it was the same day when the show was launched. So, I was stepping into a new phase of my life to the other."
