Actor Mukesh Tripathi, also known as MAK, is getting a lot of appreciation for his portrayal of Shakti Singh in Sony TV’s historical drama Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. Mukesh, who has previously worked in projects like My Name is Khan, The Final Call, and The Attack of 26/11, now takes on one of the most complex and demanding roles of his career.
Talking about his experience playing Shakti Singh, Mukesh revealed, “I’ve worked in this industry for years, but taking up the role of Shakti Singh was a personal challenge. The character has a unique trait—he speaks much faster than others, which made memorizing the lines extremely important. There’s no room for improvisation with this character.”

He went on to share that his educational background gave him an edge in playing this part. “I hold both a Shastri degree and a Master’s degree in Sanskrit, which helped me connect deeply with the role. Understanding the language and tone of the period was very important. I also did a lot of research—watched the old Chanakya series and even drew inspiration from Game of Thrones to understand how to portray political advisors and complex characters like Shakti Singh,” he added.
In Chakravarti Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, Shakti Singh is shown as a sharp-minded advisor who stands for justice and believes only the most capable leader should rule. Although he supports the kingdom, his ways are not always straightforward. He uses strategies like persuasion, reward, punishment, and secrecy—just like Chanakya—to ensure that the future of the kingdom stays safe.
The show boasts a talented cast including Rohit Roy, Padmini Kolhapure, and Ashutosh Rana. It airs every evening at 7:30 PM on Sony TV.
Mukesh’s hard work and deep dedication have made Shakti Singh a standout character in the show. His knowledge of Sanskrit, combined with his acting skills and thoughtful preparation, have helped him bring depth and strategy to the role. With this character, Mukesh has added a new layer of intelligence and mystery to Indian television, making Shakti Singh a role to remember.
