Milind Soman expresses his sadness over the stampede in Mahakumbh as he takes sacred dip with his wife

Milind Soman and his wife, Ankita Konwar, recently attended the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where they took part in the sacred dip on Mauni Amavasya, a day considered highly auspicious during the festival. Milind shared his reflections on Instagram, conveying his appreciation for the spiritual journey they experienced together.

In his post, Milind expressed his sadness regarding a tragic incident that took place the night before during the holy dip. He referred to the stampede that resulted in the loss of 30 lives and left 60 others injured.

Blessed to be at the Mahakumbh with @ankita_earthy on the very special day of mauni amavasya ! Such a spiritual space and experience reminds me of how small and insignificant I am in the vastness of existence and how every moment that we are here is so special. Even though my heart is full, I am saddened by the events of last night, and my prayers are with the families who lost loved ones. Har Har Gange! Har Har Mahadev!!

The stampede took place as a massive number of pilgrims sought space at the Kumbh Mela to immerse themselves in the holy Ganges River. In light of this tragic event, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a judicial inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding it.
