The world has yet to witness the story of the almighty Garud, the King of Birds. Garud’s powers knows no bounds as he can support the entire world on a single feather. Yet it is not his physical prowess that makes him legendary in the Hindu mythology, it is his complete devotion to his mother Vinta that makes him Dharm Yoddha Garud. Launching on 14th March at 7 PM, this is Sony SAB’s grand attempt to dig from our mythological archives and present before the world, a never-seen-before story of the King of Birds.

Let us take a closer look at the cast line up who play pivotal roles in this masterpiece.

Dharm Yoddha Garud is the son of Rishi Kashyap and Vinta and is played by none other than Faisal Khan. Garud is endowed with superpowers of a hawk like sharp vision, a beak and a tongue that can be used to devour enemies and wings that have the power to create a tornado. His hyper intelligence and dexterity leave the Gods and the demons both impressed and anxious. Garud chose a life of selflessness and integrity in a time when the lure of power had consumed the Gods and the demons alike. His heart and soul belong to his mother Vinta, and even though he was a prey to a curse, he fought for his mother’s freedom which led to the start of one of the greatest sagas in Hindu mythology.

Garud’s mother Vinta essayed by Toral Rasputra is the wife of Rishi Kashyap and sister of Kadru. Her loving nature made her the apple of everyone’s eyes. Despite being pure and selfless, Vinta is confined to great deceit where she suffers by the hands of her own sister Kadru whom she loves so dearly. Vinta’s love for her son Garud is exemplary and she will guide him into a positive direction blessing him with the gift of wit and integrity which sets him apart from the rest of the world.

Rishi Kashyap, portrayed by Hrishikesh Pandey is the progenitor of all living creatures including the Devtas and Asuras. Rishi Kashyap’s presence can rattle the strongest, yet he is upset with how his children has turned out, thankless and driven by power. He has a vision for the world and his quest for the perfect son leads to the creation of Garud.

She is pretty but her eyes are snakey, presenting Kadru (Parul Chauhan), Mother of snakes. Kadru is very sharp and ambitious and knows her way around everyone including Rishi Kashyap. She loved her dear sister Vinta but her desire for power blinded her into tricking her sister and enslave her for life. She is the mother of 1000 snakes including Takshak, Kaalia, Sheshnaag and others.

The most dangerous of all the snakes is Kaalia, essayed by Ankit Raaj. Kaalia is the largest snake with the most amount of poison and he can use his eyes to hypnotize anyone. Takshak, played by Angad Hasija is the mirror image of his brother Kaalia. As deadly as ever, both the brothers are scared of Garud, but he uses his subjugation to his advantage.

Vinta is an ardent believer of Lord Vishnu essayed by Vishal Karwal. When time tested Garud’s integrity and he emerged victorious by using his wit without compromising on his principles, Lord Vishnu himself invited him to be his charioteer.

Dharm Yoddha Garud is a tale of the exchange of emotions between a mother and her beloved son. It is a classic story of how goodness finally reigns over evil. The heart touching visuals are magnified using VFX, and special effects created by Illusion Reality Studioz.
