The presence of Hollywood bigwigs and high society people ensured that the single evening raised $ 7 million.
Among the celeb guests were cast members of "Ocean's 13", George
Clooney, Matt Damon, Andres Garcia and others. A kiss with Clooney
which was on auction was bought by a husband for his wife for $ 35,000.
Steven Soderbergh, director of "Ocean's 13" and "Erin Brockovich", was
also present, as were Robert Rodriguez (director of "Sin City"), and
designer Roberto Cavalla.
Supermodels Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer and Dita von Teese were there, with the latter doing a strip show sponsored by Mac. Kylie Minogue performed a couple of her songs, while internationally-acclaimed photographer Mario Testino made live special-edition photographs for a fee of $ 10,000.
Says Masumeh: "It was a fun event where stars from every part of the
world had come. I was fortunate to have been invited to the event. Its
success proves that the Hollywood bigwigs can use their celebrity
status to help a cause, too".
