Mumbai 27th February, 2012: India loved her food and now Indians are lapping up her 'recipes' that earned her fame and success!
'MasterChef India Cookbook authored by Chef Pankaj Bhadouria, winner of MasterChef India Season 1, is now listed a bestseller after selling over 6,000 copies in November 2011, the first month of its publication!
The cookbook was part of winner's prize and follows Chef Bhadouria's own cookery show on STAR Plus called 'Pankaj ka Zayka.'
The cookery book was rated by Landmark in its best-sellers category (non-fiction) for the months December-January, alongside books by renowned authors Malcolm Gladwell and Richard Bach.
And that's not all - MasterChef India Cookbook, brought out by BPI India Publishing house, has also been nominated in Gourmand Awards, Paris under the category of 'Celebrity TV Chef'.
"I always wanted to open a restaurant and I always wanted to write a cook book," Chef Bhadouria said. "I am glad one of my dreams is coming true right now while I am working on my other dream. I had the idea of what would entail in my cook book since a while- even before MasterChef India. I owe by success to STAR Plus and to the show which changed my life completely."
Nitin Vaidya, Head, Hindi Channels, STAR India says, "Making dreams come true is a serious business. At Star Plus, our endeavour is to fire up the imagination of India's billion-plus people just like Bhadouria, who turned from a school teacher from a non-descript town to a celebrity. Yet another step of Star Plus, in actualizing its ideology of 'Rishta Wahi Soch Nayi' with its esteemed viewers."
