Marriage is on the cards for Kamya Punjabi!

Talented TV actress Kamya Punjabi who has had a vast career in the television industry is currently seen portraying the character of Preeto in Colors show Shakti: Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. Well, the actress who had been single for quite a while has now decided to tie the knot with her Delhi-based beau, Shalabh Dang. Kamya plans to marry Shalabh, who works in the healthcare industry, till next year. 

For the uninitiated, Kamya was earlier married to businessman Bunti Negi, but later the two got divorced in 2013. Kamya started dating Shalabh in February this year, and after going out for a few months, the two have decided to take their relationship to the next level. 

Speaking with Bombay Times, Kamya shared, “I will be a married woman by this time next year (laughs!). I contacted Shalabh in February, after a friend told me to consult him about some health woes that I was facing. We got chatting and in a month-and-a-half, he proposed marriage. Tying the knot again was a huge deal for me and hence, I took my time to think about it. Following a failed marriage and a few heartbreaks, I had almost turned averse to the idea of tying the knot and falling in love. In fact, there came a point when main shaadi ke khilaaf ho gayi thi. But Shalabh has made me believe in love and the institution of marriage again. I am like a 16-year-old girl now, madly in love with him.”

It’s not just the couple, their families are bonding well, too. While Kamya’s nine-year-old daughter, Aara, is extremely fond of Shalabh, the latter’s 10-year-old son, Ishan, from his ex wife, dotes on the actress. Kamya says, “I reach out to Shalabh when Aara gets stubborn because she listens to him. It’s such a relief to see them bond so well. I am also extremely fond of Ishan and we get along like a house on fire.”

While the marriage is slated to take place next year, the new couple in town is planning a trip to Dubai next month, to celebrate Aara and Ishan’s birthdays on October 6 and 9, respectively.
